Children of LeningradskyPoland 2004 • 35 mins • Director: Hanna Polak • Subtitled Content may disturb This film presents an honest depiction of the lives of the homeless children of Moscow and who are forced to live in train stations. This fi lm provides an insight into the ongoing problems experienced in post-Soviet Russia – a country which the West knows little about. In the underground train station of Leningradsky, panhandling and sleeping in rubbish bins, these children sniff glue to escape their turbulent world - and curb their hunger. Some prostitute themselves in order to survive. But sadly for most, life in the streets is preferable to returning to their homes.
