Human RightsTalking about the issuesThe film festival provides a safe space to explore and debate national and international human rights. To assist this we have organized after each screening, a discussion forum examining issues raised by the films. Audience members are encouraged to listen and join in with the discussion. These discussions can be continued online by visiting the Human Rights Network site which hosts the Human Rights Film Festival Discussion Forum. To take part you will first need to become a member of the Human Rights Network. It is free and simple to join - see below. Various non-governmental organizations work in the area of human rights in New Zealand, most of them members of the Human Rights Network. If you are interested in learning more about some of the issues raised in our films, or in finding our more about the work these organizations are involved in, information about them is available in the theatre foyers after each screening.
